Qur'an 4:78 - All things from Allah?

We can find two answers to this question in the Qur’an:

Evil and good things are from Allah - Qur’an 4:78

”… Say, "All [things] are from Allah...” (Qur’an 4:78).

Only good things are from Allah - Qur’an 4:79

”What comes to you of good is from Allah , but what comes to you of evil, [O man], is from yourself. And We have sent you, [O Muhammad], to the people as a messenger, and sufficient is Allah as Witness.” (Qur’an 4:79).

Muslim reply

Some Muslims say that that Qur’an 4:78 and 4:79 say that bad situations are a result of your deeds. However, Qur’an 4:78 is clear about bad situations: ".... If some good befalls them, they say "This is from Allah". But if evil, they say "This is from thee" (O prophet). Say: "All things are from Allah....." In contrast with this, Qur’an 4:79 is clear that evil things come from the people, not from Allah: "Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah. But whatever evil happens to thee, is from thyself". A logical analysis, dear friend will lead to the conclusion that we have found a contrast in the Qur'an.

The Qur’an has two different statements about the crucial thing about the origin of evil and goodness. Therefore we have found a contradiction in the Qur’an.
