Qur’an 7:179 - Many people created for hell or not?

There is a much uncertain in the Qur’an about life in the hereafter. One of the issues is the creation of people who will go to hell.

Many people are created for hell - Qur’an 7:179, 98:6

“And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless. “ (Qur’an 7:179)“Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures” (Qur’an 98:6).

All people are honored and get good things - Qur’an 17:70

“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.” (Qur’an 17:70)

Muslim reply

Some Muslims have tried to answer the contradiction claim by saying that the difference is that life on earth is for everyone to enjoy. The hereafter is only for the select few. They notice that the Qur´an says: “carried them on the land and sea”, an indication that it is about life on earth. However Qur’an 17:70 doesn’t specify such a realm, all people are from Adam and goodness is for all people. While in Qur’an 7:179 we read that goodness is not for all people.

The destiny of many people created for hell in two Qur’an verses has a contrast with another Qur’an verse about honor and good stuff to people. An indication that there is a contradiction in the Qur´an.
