Qur’an 9:71 - Are dedicated and philanthropic believers protectors of others?

There are different answers to the question in the Qur’an:

Yes, they are protectors of others - Qur’an 9:71

“And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due” (Qur’an 9:71 - Pickthall).

No, only Allah is a protector - Qur’an 9:116, 17:111, 32:4 and 42:28

“And you have not besides Allah any protector or any helper” (Qur’an 9:116). See also Qur’an 17:111, 32:4 and, 42:28.

No, angels are our protectors - Qur’an 41:31-32

“The angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised” (Qur’an 41:30).

Conclusion

There is a contradiction in the Qur’an about who is a protector. One verse is telling us that it are dedicated and philanthropic believers, while according to other verses only Allah or angels can be the our protectors.
