Qur’an 2:253 - Are some messengers or apostles above others or not?

There are different answers to the question in the Qur’an:

Some messengers or apostles are above others - Qur’an 2:253

“Some apostles (messengers) are above others; to some of them Allah spoke (for example, Allah has graded His messengers, He had spoken directly to a few of them); to Jesus, Allah gave clear signs and the Holy Spirit.” (Qur’an 2:253) “All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers” (Qur’an 2:285)

No messenger or apostle is above others - Qur’an 4:152

“But they who believe in Allah and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them - to those He is going to give their rewards.” (Qur’an 4:152) The Qur’an is telling us in this verse that there is no higher position under messengers or prophets. This is in disagreement with the earlier mentioned verse that some messengers (prophets) are more preferred by Allah than others.

Conclusion

The Qur’an has a contradiction about messenger or apostles above others.
