Qur’an 2:14 - Doubt allowed for a Muslim or not?

There are different answers to the question in the Qur’an:

No doubt allowed - Qur’an 2:14

“And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."” (Qur’an 2:147).

Doubt allowed - Qur’an 10:94

“So if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.” (Qur’an 10:94).ConclusionOne verse is telling us that a Muslim cannot have doubt, while another verse says that doubt is allowed. With two different answers there is a contrast about the same question. Therefore we have a difficulty in the Qur’an. The mentioned verses show a contradiction in the Qur’an.
