Qur’an 14:4 - Allah guides to the truth or not?

There are different answers to the question in the Qur’an:

1. Allah guides to the truth – Qur’an 10:35

“Say, "Are there of your ’partners’ any who guides to the truth?" Say, " Allah guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you - how do you judge?” (Qur’an 10:35)

2. Allah leads astray – Qur’an 14:4

“… and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills…” (Qur’an 14:4)

3. Muslim reply

The Qur’an says that men have a free will. Anyone who want to disobey Allah has permission. However when the Qur’an is a perfect book, there shouldn’t be a statement in contradiction with another one. At least there should be a disclaimer and an explanation. We cannot find such a thing in the context of Qur’an 10:35 and Qur’an 14:4. We also don’t know to which of teh categories of Allah we belong. The result is that a Muslim doesn’t know that he is on the way to Paradise or not. Therefore we have a contradiction.

4. Conclusion

We can see that in one verse the Qur’an says that Allah guides to the truth, while in another verse Allah let them go to hell. NWith two different answers there is a contrast about the same question. Therefore we have a difficulty in the Qur’an. The mentioned verses show a contradiction in the Qur’an.
